Jean-Philippe Vauchel began his unique career as an accountant for an engineering firm in his hometown of Bruay-la-Buissière, France. He received his doctorate in French Literature in 2000 from the Université Charles de Gaulle in Lille. That year he moved to the United States where he became Assistant Professor of French at Columbus State University in Georgia, and later taught French and accounting, gave lectures in Europe and the States, managed the accounts for several companies, and published articles and books. Currently residing in New Orleans, he is a longtime member of the Modern Language Association and was a presenter at the prestigious Salon du Livre de Paris.
