Prof. Juliana STARR

Juliana Starr is Professor of French and a member of the Women’s Studies faculty at the University of New Orleans, where she teaches French language as well as French literature and culture of the Middle Ages and the nineteenth century. She began her affiliation with the AIZEN in 1999 with a presentation at the 8th International Conference in San Francisco and was one of the Organizers-in-Chief of the AIZEN Conference on her campus in March 2014. She has authored an array of reviews and articles, focusing largely on representations of women in French literature of the nineteenth century, in journals such as Excavatio, Women in French Studies, French Studies Bulletin, and Bulletin de la Société Théophile Gautier. Her most recent publication is a chapter on Zola's theater scenes in The Routledge Companion to Theatre-Fiction (November 2023).
