Prof. ELISABETH-CHRISTINE MUELSCH

Elisabeth-Christine Muelsch is Professor of French and Chair of the Film Studies Committee at Angelo State University, where she teaches languages, literature, film and culture classes. A lifetime member of AIZEN, she has published numerous articles that have appeared in journals such as Excavatio, Cahiers Octave Mirbeau, Romance Languages Annual, George Sand Studies, 1895 Revue d’histoire du cinéma, and in collections such as Zola and Film (McFarland, 2005), Rebelles et criminelles chez les écrivaines d’expression française (Rodopi, 2013) and Creative Women of the Lost Generation. Women in the Arts in the Wake of the Great War (Routledge, 2024). In 2012, she co-edited Écrire les hommes (Presses Universitaires de Vincennes). She has contributed biographical entries to French Cinema in Close-up (Phaeton, 2015) and The Art of Directing. A Concise Dictionary of France’s Film Directors (Lang, 2023). Her most recent work focuses on cinematic adaptations of Zola’s novels and on early women film directors.
